Dermal fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the human body. Dermal filler also contains lidocaine which is an anaesthetic to make the procedure comfortable.

Dermal filler (hyaluronic acid) is responsible for attracting and holding water within the skin, giving the skin a plump and fullness to it.

Over time our bodies metabolise hyaluronic acid, leading to volume loss and aged skin. Sunken and sagging skin are the key features of ageing.

Dermal filler injections (hyaluronic acid) are the most common procedure to correct volume loss within the face. Typically, there is little downtime and at a fraction of the cost of a facelift or fat transfer into the face.

Dermal fillers last approximately 1 - 2 years.

Sometimes in order to treat the marionette lines its best to treat the chin and jawline too as these smooth and add volume the lower third of the face.

You can discuss this with the doctor however, it is more likely to occur in older patients more then 45 years old. (But yes, we would call that age young too)! The average age of our patients is 50 years of age, something we are proud of! We believe you are more likely to require treatment when you are over 40 years of age.
