Frequently Asked Questions

Treating the chin area with dermal filler will add volume to the area creating a balanced profile allowing the face to look full and rejuvenated.

Sometimes it's best to treat the jawline at the same time as this will give definition by lengthening the jawline. You can discuss options during your consult with your doctor.

Results are variable with chin dermal filler; it is dependent on the volume loss and facial structure.

Dermal fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the human body. Dermal filler also contains lidocaine which is an anaesthetic to make the procedure comfortable.

Dermal filler (hyaluronic acid) is responsible for attracting and holding water within the skin, giving the skin a plump and fullness to it.

Over time our bodies metabolise hyaluronic acid, leading to volume loss and aged skin. Sunken and sagging skin are the key features of ageing.

Dermal filler injections (hyaluronic acid) are the most common procedure to correct volume loss within the face. Typically, there is little downtime and at a fraction of the cost of a facelift or fat transfer into the face.

Dermal fillers last approximately 1 - 2 years.

Yes, most people can choose to be a candidate for dermal filler treatment. However, not all patients will have the same results.

Rule of thumb: the more noticeable the loose skin is the higher chance that there will be no good outcome and lumps will form, which need to be dissolved,

Treating the area adds volume to the chin while creating a more balanced profile on the lower third of the face.

Being suitable depends on multiple factors of anatomy including the loose skin depth of marionette lines, volume loss in the jawline and chin area. The depth of tissue, blood vessels, skin integrity and other systemic issues with health.

Depending on the area and the facial structure a needle or cannula may be used.

During this treatment, dermal filler is injected into the chin area using either a cannula or needle. This treatment gives the facial structure a longer progression and a sharper profile, especially when performed in conjunction with jawline dermal filler treatment.

Chin dermal filler treatments are tolerable without numbing cream or local anaesthetic prior to treatment.

All types of dermal fillers including the chin have lidocaine (numbing) to make it comfortable.

Treatment takes between 15 - 30 mins.

After the injections are completed, the doctor will discuss aftercare and how to contact clinic if you have any questions or concerns.

We offer free follow up on all treatments within the clinic, however extra product may incur a cost to patient at follow up.

Results are variable amongst all patients; however, the doctor will not perform the treatment if the doctor believes it will not meet the patients’ expectations.

Sometimes in order to treat the chin area its best to treat the jawline as well as the lengthens your facial profile whilst still adding volume to the area.

You can discuss this with the doctor; however, it is more likely to occur in older patients more then 45 years old. (But yes, we would call that age young too! our average aged client is 50 years of age, something we are proud of! We believe you are more likely to require treatment when you are over 40 years of age).

Chin treatment will take up to 4 weeks to see best results. It is less likely to bruise or have swelling noticeable to the naked eye. But you will be able to feel how full the chin area from touch.

Swelling requires at least two weeks to settle but can take up to 4 weeks for best results. It is rare for a stranger to notice unless they are looking for asymmetries in the face, in which we all have before dermal filler is injected.

Bruising can occur but unlikely compared to tear trough or lip filler treatments.

Fluid rendition and migration of filler in the nasolabial region is very rare.

We offer free follow ups to all patients treated within the clinic, with an experienced doctor.
