Treating the temples with dermal filler can soften the overall shape of the face. Adding volume to a hollowed-out temple area gives the face a more contoured and balanced look. You will see secondary results of a higher profile due to the filler pulling the skin up and outwards from the outer corners of the eyes.
You can discuss temple dermal filler treatment options during your consult with your doctor.
Results are variable with temple dermal filler. It is generally dependent on the depth and shape of the face.
Dermal fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the human body. Dermal filler also contains lidocaine which is an anaesthetic to make the procedure comfortable.
Dermal filler (hyaluronic acid) is responsible for attracting and holding water within the skin, giving the skin a plump and fullness to it.
Over time our bodies metabolise hyaluronic acid, leading to volume loss and aged skin. Sunken and sagging skin are the key features of ageing.
Dermal filler injections (hyaluronic acid) are the most common procedure to correct volume loss within the face. Typically, there is little downtime and at a fraction of the cost of a facelift or fat transfer into the face.
Dermal fillers last approximately 1 - 2 years.
