Frequently Asked Questions

Treating the nasolabial fold with dermal filler can soften the lines from the corner of the nose to corner of the mouth.

Sometimes it's best to treat the cheeks first, as this will lift the nasolabial fold when the cheek has volume loss. You can discuss options during your consult with your doctor.

Results are variable with nasolabial fold dermal filler, it is dependent on the depth of the folds, the fold from the volume loss of the cheek region.

Dermal fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the human body. Dermal filler also contains lidocaine which is an anaesthetic to make the procedure comfortable.

Dermal filler (hyaluronic acid) is responsible for attracting and holding water within the skin, giving the skin a plump and fullness to it.

Over time our bodies metabolise hyaluronic acid, leading to volume loss and aged skin. Sunken and sagging skin are the key features of ageing.

Dermal filler injections (hyaluronic acid) are the most common procedure to correct volume loss within the face. Typically, there is little downtime and at a fraction of the cost of a facelift or fat transfer into the face.

You can discuss this with the doctor. It’s more likely to occur in older patients over 45 years of age. (But yes, we would call that age young too!)
