To remove dermal filler from the body, hyaluronidase can be injected into the site to dissolve the hyaluronic acid from the dermal filler.
The hyaluronidase will also dissolve the body's natural hyaluronic acid in the region. Because hyaluronic acid turns over rapidly in the body, this will come back very quickly.
All cosmetic injectable treatments performed by experienced injectors.
They use an ingredient called hyaulronidase, which dissolves the hyaluronic acid in dermal fillers. This helps the body break it down and absorb it over a shorter period of time.
Yes it is painful, we offer prescription grade numbing cream, a nerve block and ice to help with the pain. The pain is short lasting, there is no ongoing pain after the injection.
There are many reasons that the filler has to be dissolve or has been requested to be dissolved for example:
• Over filled
• The filler has moved or spread to other areas
• Lumps and unevenness of dermal filler result
• Asymmetrical result
• Allergic reaction: swelling
• Late reaction: swelling lump at the filler areas which commonly see at tear trough areas even a few months after the filler has been injected.
• Infection
This can vary depending on the type of Hyaluronic acid filler. Some dermal fillers (generally larger areas of the face) require more than one session to dissolve. Please contact the clinic if required for follow up appointments.
The most common side effect is slight bleeding after the needle has been inserted into the skin. Other risks include bruising, tenderness, redness and swelling around the injection site. Rare adverse reactions could include allergic reactions.
Hyaluronidase can dissolve your body's hyaluronic acid however our hyaluronic acid naturally lasts only 3 days, therefore our skin will turnover the new hyaluronic acid to the same amount that has been dissolved within a few days.
After dissolving dermal filler you need to allow the treatment area to settle for a minimum of 2 weeks before dermal filler can be injected into the area again. Dr Bart will create a treatment plan with the patient in order for the patient to get their desired outcome.
Results vary due to individual factors such as skin type and anatomy, therefore it’s not always possible to predict how filler dissolvers might work. It’s important to manage expectations if you have this type of treatment. In most cases, results are visible within around 48 hours.
It is recommended not to touch or apply any make up on treated areas for 24 hours to prevent infection. Any swelling can be reduced by cold compress and taking a antihistamine. Bruising can be reduced with Arnica cream or tablets.
