Terms & Conditions for Cosmetic Injectables and Laser Treatments – 2025

Published:

October 8, 2025

1. General

These Terms and Conditions apply to all cosmetic procedures at Newcastle Cosmetic Doctor (NCD), including anti‑wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, and laser/energy‑based treatments. By booking or undergoing treatment, patients acknowledge these terms. 1

2. Medical Governance

All procedures are performed by, or under the supervision of, a registered medical practitioner, following the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) Guidelines for Non‑Surgical Cosmetic Procedures (2025). 1

3. Consultation and Consent

A consultation with a prescribing medical practitioner is required before any treatment. Patients must disclose their medical history, allergies, and medications. Written informed consent is mandatory, covering: treatment nature, risks, alternatives, costs, and expected outcomes. A 7‑day cooling‑off period applies to significant cosmetic procedures, as required by Ahpra. 1 2

4. Risks and Results

All cosmetic procedures carry risks, including bruising, swelling, infection, vascular occlusion, scarring, pigmentary changes, burns, or unsatisfactory results. Outcomes vary between individuals, and results cannot be guaranteed. 3

5. Age and Capacity

Patients must be 18 years or older to undergo cosmetic injectables or laser procedures. Under‑18s are treated only in exceptional circumstances with parental consent and specialist referral, consistent with Ahpra guidelines. 1

6. Payment and Refunds

Full payment is required at the time of treatment. Refunds are not provided for change of mind or where results are subjective. Corrective treatment or refunds may be offered in cases of proven practitioner error, in line with Australian Consumer Law. 4

7. Aftercare and Responsibilities

Patients must follow aftercare instructions provided. Failure to comply may increase risks and compromise results. Patients are instructed to contact NCD immediately if they experience severe pain, visual changes, spreading redness, or concerning symptoms. 3

8. Emergencies

NCD maintains emergency protocols for vascular occlusion, anaphylaxis, and cardiac arrest, in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and Ahpra expectations. In some cases, referral to hospital is required. 1 5

9. Confidentiality and Privacy

Patient information and photographs are confidential, stored under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Data is not shared without consent unless legally required. 6

10. Complaints and Feedback

Patients may lodge complaints directly with NCD. If unresolved, complaints may be escalated to Ahpra or the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC NSW). 7

11. Amendments

NCD reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions as guidelines and legal requirements evolve. The current version will always be available in clinic and online. 1 4

Emergency Disclaimer

Cosmetic injectables and laser treatments are medical procedures with risks. Complications, while rare, may include infection, vascular occlusion, scarring, or vision loss. Emergency protocols are in place, but outcomes cannot be guaranteed. 3 5
