This past week our family celebrated a milestone I will never forget, the first birthday of our twins Johnny and Trudy. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and memories that we will treasure forever.
We were lucky enough to have so many of our loved ones join us. My wife, our children, my brother, grandma, the cousins, little Pingham, as well as aunties, uncles, and many from my wife’s side of the family. Having everyone together under one roof for such a special occasion made the day even more meaningful.
The highlight of the celebration was the smash cake. Johnny and Trudy had an absolute blast with icing everywhere, big smiles, and plenty of giggles. We spent the day relaxing, swimming by the pool, and capturing beautiful candid photos that perfectly reflected who we are as a family.
A couple of days later we took a trip down to Rayong where my wife is from. It is a peaceful spot about three hours east of Bangkok near the beach. We stayed at the Mercure Hotel, where we spent time by the pool and enjoyed quiet, relaxed days with the grandparents and the nanny. It was a perfect little getaway to continue the celebrations.
I also want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes and gifts. You truly went above and beyond, and your kindness means the world to us. Not only to me, but to my wife and family as well. The support from our patients and community, both online and in person, makes everything I do so much more rewarding.
Balancing my time between Australia and Thailand can be challenging, with twelve days of work here and nine days with the kids there, but moments like this remind me just how fortunate I am. I have never been happier. Becoming a dad has given me a new perspective on life, a deep sense of unconditional love, purpose, gratitude, and even forgiveness for the small things that do not matter in the bigger picture.
At the end of the day, all that truly matters is that my wife and children are healthy and happy. For that I am endlessly grateful.
Thank you again to everyone who celebrated with us in person and in spirit. Here are some of our favourite photos from the day.
