The great thing about radio frequency is that it is safe on all skin types, especially darker skin type, in which laser treatments come with risk of hypo pigmentation.

1. Initially a consultation and skin analysis.
2. Application of prescription grade numbing cream to the treatment area (face or neck).
3. After 20 mins, your face will be numb, then we can begin the treatment.
4. During your Venus Viva treatment, the hand piece is repeatedly pressed onto the skin where you will hear a beep and you may feel a slight sting, however the numbing cream works very well, and there is little discomfort.
5. With areas of concern, we can do multiple passes with the radio-frequency optimising your results.
6. The Venus Viva treatment takes approximately 1 hour in total which includes numbing time.

With the application of prescription grade numbing cream, the Radio frequency skin treatment is comfortable. You may feel slight discomfort, like an elastic band being flicked, but that is rare and is generally when the numbing cream has not numbed the spot.

Clients get a great outcome in skin complexion and texture after one treatment, this will continue to improve over the following month.

For scars and skin tightening best results are with a set of three treatments 4 - 8 weeks apart, this will continue to stimulate collagen and elastin for skin remodelling.

Post treatment:

1. Immediately after procedure, a burn aide gel is applied to your skin, you will be red and sometimes swollen, it is common to have pin prick bleeding.
2. If it is uncomfortable you can take some paracetamol 2 tablets

(4 - 6 hourly) as required.

Downtime:

Down time typically is between 2 to 3 days, however on rare occasions in can take up to a 7 - 10 days. If this is the case please contact the clinic as we can give medication to aid recovery.

Aftercare includes:

1. Keep the area moist with burn aide cream for the first 2 days.
2. Avoid scratching or picking the skin.
3. Avoid heavy exercise for 3 days or until recovery.
4. Avoid make up for 24 - 48 hours.
5. Keep the area clean and sterile.
6. Avoid skin treatments for 2 weeks
7. Avoid the sun / sun protection as your skin is sensitive
8. Most people choose to do laser treatments during the colder months when the sun is not as a strong.
