Looking to smooth fine lines and refresh your appearance without surgery? At Newcastle Cosmetic Doctor, Dr Bart Scanlon performs expert anti-wrinkle injections tailored to deliver natural, balanced results.
With over 50,000 treatments performed in the past 10 years, Dr Bart offers trusted cosmetic care in Newcastle with a focus on safety, subtlety, and honest advice.
Anti-wrinkle injections are a non-surgical treatment that helps reduce the appearance of dynamic facial lines — such as frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles. These lines form from repeated expressions over time.
The treatment works by gently relaxing overactive facial muscles. As those muscles soften, the overlying skin smooths out, giving you a refreshed and more relaxed appearance — without looking frozen or overdone.
We provide anti-wrinkle injections across the full face, tailored to your unique features:
Results typically last 3–4 months, depending on the area and your muscle activity. With regular treatments, results can last longer over time. Most people see visible results from Day 3, with full effects at Day 10–14.
Anti-wrinkle injections are considered safe and effective when performed by experienced professionals.
Possible side effects include:
At Newcastle Cosmetic Doctor, every treatment is designed with your facial anatomy and natural movement in mind. Dr Bart Scanlon will guide you through what’s right for you — no upselling, no pressure.
Frown line
Frown lines are the lines between the eyebrows caused by repetitive use of facial muscles.
As well as having an ageing effect they can make a face look worried or unhappy.
Forehead
Forehead wrinkles are caused by the action of the frontalis muscle on the forehead.
This muscle contracts when we raise our eyebrows. The raising of the frontalis muscle pulls the skin of the forehead up and causes forehead wrinkles which appear as lines across our forehead.
Crow’s feet
Crow's feet are wrinkles at the outer corner of the eyes. They resemble the feet of a crow, hence the name.
As we age the lines and wrinkle become deeper.
Eyebrow lift
Eyebrow lift can be performed by anti-wrinkle injections placed at the ends of the eyebrows to help relax those muscles. This allows the forehead muscles to now pull up the outer eyebrow up.
The amount of lift you get will vary, depending on your age and tone of the muscles that are left active to pull up the now-relaxed muscles
Lip flip
A lip flip procedure occurs when anti-wrinkle injections are places into the upper lip. This relaxes the muscle, rolling or flipping the upper lip. It is very a subtle increase in size of the upper lip.
Gummy smile
A gummy smile (Excessive Gingival Display) occurs when a larger than proportionate amount of gum tissue shows above the upper teeth when smiling.
This can be treated with anti-wrinkle treatment to lower the top lip, showing less upper gums.
Bunny lines
Bunny Lines are those pesky diagonal lines (and sometimes horizontal lines) that form across the upper nose from excessive pull of the underlying muscle whenever you scrunch your nose.
Chin
The chin can develop an excessively dimpled, pebbly or orange peel (peau d'orange) appearance.
This is due to the hyper-contraction of the chin muscles.
Masseter
The masseter is one of the muscles that helps you chew. It’s located on the side of your face and connects your cheekbone to your lower jawbone.
Anti-wrinkle injections in the masseter are typically used for:
• managing teeth grinding
• reducing jaw tension, pain, and clenching
• relieving headaches
• contouring a square jaw
• creating a balanced face shape
Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis, anti-sweating injections are a highly effective treatment for underarm sweating. Patients with excess underarm sweating will have benefit from anti sweating injections.
